My name is Airmid Keogh.I am a Registered General Nurse and a licensed member of the Acupuncture Council Of Ireland. I trained as a General Nurse in the UK and was fortunate to experience many great opportunities including working in UK, Australia and France. As I evolved in the medical field I became interested in "Health and Wellbeing". I am also a trained yoga instructor and Meditation teacher. I am currently studying Medicinal herbs . My goal is to provide a service that is compassionate, comprehensive and considers the emotional and physical needs of my patients. I believe my background in Nursing and Acupuncture provides me with the knowledge to provide care that compliments both Western and Chinese medicine
Acupuncture seeks to restore the flow of positive energy throughout your body
Acupuncture is part of the system of healthcare known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The principal behind TCM is that energy flows through channels known as meridians throughout the body. When any of these channels become blocked we experience pain or a feeling of being unwell. The World Health Organisation ( WHO) recognises that Acupuncture treats a wide range of common health conditions.
Acupuncture treatment involves the use of fine sterile needles inserted at specific points to clear the blockage and encourage healing. Acupuncture can compliment many western medical treatments
Acupuncture treats many different ailments. Common medical conditions treated are Migraine/Headache Stress, Anxiety, Palpitations, Depression, Hormonal Imbalance, Menopause Symptoms, Insomnia , Pain
Nutritious food is important for good health. Medicinal herbs are often prescribed alongside Acupuncture to enhance results. Herbs that I source undergo very strict quality control.
Electro Acupuncture is a type of Acupuncture whereby a small electric current is passed between pairs of needles to stimulate flow of energy on the body alleviating pain in the area.
Infrared healing device is used to accelerate natural healing. The heat lamp combines infrared heat tubes and a Thermal Design Plate(TDP) which penetrates deeper to the bone and ligaments. The heat lamp improves circulation, hydration and oxygenation of cells. Also stimulates hypothalmus to help patient sleep better, elevate mood, ease pain and lower blood pressure.
Cupping therapy is often used alongside Acupuncture, It involves placing cups onto the skin with a vacuum being formed. Cupping can be used for a variety of conditions and is beneficial for treatment of pain and releasing toxins trapped in deep muscle tissue.
"I have attended Airmid for acupuncture to help with PCOS and symptoms associated with the condition. I didn’t have a regular period.
I had consecutive treatments and within two months I got my period back! I was at my wits end before attending Airmid and very anxious which was exacerbating my symptoms. Airmid is absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable about the body and healing. She’s also so kind and caring! I have recommended her to friends and family !"
